Mia Henry (she|her) is the daughter of Black activists from Alabama. She is also a nationally-recognized thought leader, specializing in facilitation and organizational development work with nonprofits, schools and companies that seek a justice and equity lens. Mia is the founder and principal of Freedom Lifted, a company dedicated to supporting leaders through social justice education. Previously, she was a founding director of the Chicago Freedom School and the executive director of the Arcus Center for Social Justice Leadership. Mia has degrees from Rutgers University and the University of Pennsylvania, as well as knowledge informed by that which has been passed to her from family and ancestors, extensive travel, and the many relationships she has nurtured in communities across the U.S.
